Dogging

Description

NSW OHS Regulations 2001 require those attaching and slinging loads to cranes of any type or providing directions for a crane or hoist operator in the movement of loads must have the WorkCover NSW Accredited Ticket in Dogging.

Successful completion of this course and the assessment qualifies the participant to apply for the WorkCover NSW DG Ticket.

Successful participants will be able to demonstrate

  • compliance with the NSW OHS Act & OHS Regulation relating to workplace operations and compliance with organisational policies and procedures within the context of handling materials and valuable equipment
  • identify detail or program of work involving handling and relocating of items
  • select and use appropriate processes, tools and equipment
  • estimate load, centre of gravity and selection of equipment
  • apply safe & correct procedures to the slinging of loads
  • safe and effective operational use of plant, tools & equipment
  • interactive communications with crane operators to ensure safe and effective
    workplace operations

Assessments are conducted by a WorkCover NSW accredited assessor.
